Meet Dr. Martínez (she/her)

The vocabulary that matters is yours, in whichever language it lives.

So much of what brings people to therapy has no easy name: a self that doesn't fit the story you were handed, a grief no one around you seems to see, a love that costs more than it should. My work begins by making room for all of it, without asking you to translate yourself first.

As a Spanish-speaking, bicultural provider, I hold the particular weight of living between cultures, languages, and expectations. I work with people across gender and sexuality, race and heritage, and the ordinary and extraordinary passages of a life. My approach is collaborative and unhurried, and it offers what I believe every person deserves: growth, validation, and support.

A practice built around identity and belonging.

How I work

I look forward to bearing witness to your story and helping you find a path forward.

Dr. Lyssett Martínez

Therapy here is collaborative. I don't hand you a curriculum or a diagnosis to wear. Blending psychodynamic depth with empirically supported treatments like mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and CBT, I individually tailor the work to your unique experience: the history you carry, the culture you come from, the language your feelings speak most fluently.

The goal is not to become someone easier for the world to hold. It is to become more fully, more freely yourself, and to build the steadiness that lets you live from there.

When you're ready

The first conversation is free, and unhurried.

Most people who reach out have been carrying the question for a while. There's no pressure from this end. When the timing feels right, call or send a note. The first step is a free 15-minute consultation to talk through what you're looking for and whether we're a good fit. In English or en español.
